What to Watch For:
One of the big decisions this offseason revolves around whether or not the team will decide to bring Chig Okonkwo back. He is a pending free agent and a lot of fans would like him back as he is an athletic receiving tight end and lead the team in catches and receiving yards for the season. His run blocking is the main reason why people make an argument against him. I think it all depends on the price tag he demands, as you do want to reward home grown talent but it has to make sense, although his most recent post suggests he will be testing the free agent market. That leads me to Gunnar Helm, whom was drafted in the 4th round last season and I think he has a bright future and flashed as a solid receiver this year.
As far as free agency goes, there are some bigger names like Kyle Pitts and David Njoku but I think Pitts ultimately ends up resigning and Njoku may be a little too pricy. Two Ravens tight ends make the most sense to me in free agency. I prefer Charlie Kolar over Likely because he is a better blocker and if you sign Likely, you may as well just bring back Chig. The draft has about 5-10 guys that are going to pretty useful at the NFL level and their are a couple of guys that I like to fill that Chig role in Eli Stowers, Khalil Dinkins and Justin Joly. They all have similar athletic profiles and are smooth and can move like WR's. Tanner Koziol has a massive 6'7 frame, was used primarily as a big slot and had 168 catches over the last two seasons.
Ultimately, I think Helm and DMR stay on the roster and I think you look later in the draft to find another developmental guy like Khalil Dinkins.
